Simply put, Infinium’s Cloud services are the delivery of your IT services (servers, storage, databases, networking, software and more) over the internet. The adoption of this technology has revolutionised the way we do business, making IT resources available anytime and anywhere.
There are three basic approaches to adopting Cloud technology:
Private Cloud – an environment where Cloud services are offered over the Internet to authorised users. Private Clouds typically deliver a higher level of security, management and privacy through dedicated firewalls, storage and servers, ensuring the company’s sensitive data is not accessible to third parties. Private Clouds can, however, have an increased overhead of management to that of Public Cloud.
Public Cloud – an environment where computing services are offered over the Internet to the general public. Public Clouds can typically be deployed faster than Private Cloud environments, allowing access to the same application from any office, branch or home location, as long as internet access is available. While security concerns have been raised over Public Cloud environments, this can be managed by using security methods, such as intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS).
Hybrid Cloud – adopts both Private Cloud and Public Cloud technology to serve different functions within your organisation. In such a scenario, you may use a Private Cloud environment to store and access any sensitive or confidential information, such as financial or intellectual data, whilst using a Public Cloud service to deliver well-established, recognised and secure applications, such as email and backup.
