We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice to join the Service Desk team here at Infinium IT Ltd.

Location: Preston, PR4 0HF

Salary: £14,560, plus benefits

Hours: 40 hours (Monday to Friday, progressing to rotational shifts Monday-Sunday)

Infinium are an experienced team of IT & Wi-Fi specialists supporting Holiday Park connectivity across the UK. Following an exciting period of growth, we are now looking to further expand our team and are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Apprentice to join our Service Desk Team.

The Role:

Our Service Desk is a core part of our business, providing exceptional customer service and engagement to our national customer base. The Service Desk role is the immediate customer contact point. As an Apprentice joining the team, you will be working across multiple client platforms and managing customer incidents and requests by both phone and email.

As an Apprentice Service Desk Engineer your duties will include:

  • Providing excellent customer support responding to and managing incidents & requests through to resolution via telephone, email & self-service portal.
  • Create, action, and manage enquiries through to resolution or escalation in line with service level agreements and their thresholds.
  • Provide effective and speedy response time to all calls, ensuring all calls are answered and re-routed efficiently.
  • Monitor systems for actions or escalated queries and respond as required.
  • Communicate to customers, team, and the business when changes in process occur.

To be successful in your application you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Good remote problem solving and fault-finding skills.
  • The ability to work in a calm and methodical manner whilst under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt your communication style to best support customer needs.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple channels.
  • Work well as part of a supportive and friendly team.
  • Able to display excellent time and task management.
  • Ability to build effective relationships.
  • Ability to liaise with technical experts and comfortably use technical language

Required Skills and Experience – Apprentice Service Desk Engineer

  • Experience in a customer service environment.
  • Previously IT Help Desk experience would be desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of the ITIL Framework would be desirable

Upon successful appointment you will be enrolled onto a L3 Digital Support Technician OR Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship through a local provider to support you with your career progression with Infinium IT.
