Due to a truly exciting period of growth we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Junior Network Engineer to join our team, based out of our Preston Head office
Location: Preston, (Potential to work nationwide on occasion)
Salary: Up to £25,000 (subject to experience)
Hours: 40 hours (Monday to Friday) & on-call rota
Junior Network Engineer – The Role:
As Junior Network Engineer you will support Trained Network Engineers in the delivery of the network, associated applications and data centre services. This includes the day-to-day operation of network services, and the delivery of projects and maintenance in the field.

Junior Network Engineer Responsibilities will include:
- Support desk duties utilising OTRS, Nagios, Rancid, PRTG, Cacti
- Linux administration for monitoring and managing service provider infrastructure
- Networking duties with Cisco and Juniper hardware.
- Firewall maintenance and support using Cisco ASA/Firepower Services, Junos SRX
- Business Wifi support using Unifi/Cisco Aironet/Mobility Express/Cambium
- Visit the datacentre to assist in upgrades or troubleshoot outages.
- Customer site visits for breakfix / network upgrades / refreshes
- Pre-sales support.
- Any other duties that may be required in the fulfilment your role.
As Junior Network Engineer You will:
- Be required to be On-Call, Out of Hours (up to one week in four)
- Have good knowledge of networking (Most layer2 and Layer 3 technologies)
- Have a flexible approach and be a team player
- Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, with Practical/ DIY skills
- Layer 1 fault finding and remediation during customer site visits / installs.
- Eager to learn and develop
- Linux administration skills
- Good understanding of RBAC / Zone based firewalls
- Strong troubleshooting Skills
Essential
- CCNA or working towards / JNCIA or working towards
- Full Driving Licence
- Existing helpdesk experience / Telephone & ticket handling
