Hours: 40 hours (Monday to Friday)

Founded in 2002, Infinium are an experienced team of IT & Wi-Fi specialists supporting Holiday Parks across the UK. Due to a truly exciting period of growth and we are looking for an enthusiastic Project Cost Accountant to join our highly experienced finance team.

The role will include setting processes to receive and interpret cost information, monitoring project progress and reporting internally in a regular and timely fashion. The successful candidate will report directly to The Group Chief Finance Officer and will work closely with internal project managers, to ensure all aspects of each project meet with current projections and that they are communicated, planned, and delivered within budget

Project Cost Accountant – Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with the operational team to ensure all project related costs are captured accurately and on a timely basis with the reporting systems of the organisation
  • Assist the CFO with income recognition and costs accrual decisions in relation to projects.
  • Audit and report on ongoing project costs including variance reporting
  • Preparation and distribution of daily / weekly / monthly project costing and project performance reports.
  • Monitoring and tracking of invoicing of costs, time spent on projects, throughout the project lifecycle, to ensure that costs are accurately invoiced in a timely manner and the preparation of project progress reports.
  • Analyse project options and predict future costs; analyse variances and initiate corrective actions; prepare reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information.
  • Assist with the review and analysis of project actuals and forecast spend to support the Project Managers and Finance Team in the financial control and forecasting of project budgets.
  • Assist Month End Close by preparing Revenue Recognition and posting Revenue Journals
  • Any additional duties that may be required

Project Cost Accountant – You:

  • A strong financial acumen and an understanding of accounting principles and practice.
  • Ambitious, self-motivated with an ability to deliver results
  • Self-starter who has the ability to challenge decisions and processes with a view to improve the operation of the department
  • Pro-active Independent worker, with a flexible approach to work
  • Strong written communication skills

Skills and Experience:

  • A good understanding in costing principle, audit accounting and analysis
  • Excellent organisation skills with a keen eye for attention to detail
  • Proficient in analysing people and financial data to support business decisions
  • Naturally highly detailed and organised
  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience
  • Experience as a Project Cost Controller / Project Cost Accountant or similar
  • Degree in Business / Finance or a related subject or workplace equivalent
  • Full UK Drivers Licence
